Fast Food

         Yes i would like to get that two piece thigh and leg with the mash potatoes fries biscuit and a glass of water please.
         Six fifty five at the window...
         ? I guess i drive forward. then you get to the window it opens there is no high there is no smile but they are sure in a hurry to get the money, and then come the dixie cup of water, and you ask your self do i drink it now are do i wait for the end of the meal?? Excuse me can i get a bigger glass for water please.
          I cant sir are i will have to charge you for a drink.
         well can i get another glass please.
          here you go   you take the water then few minutes you wait then the food comes they hand you the order no thank you no have great day nothing.... you drive away   yo are thinking eat in the car are take it with you and not wanting to make a mess you pull over and open only to find that you have no fork to eat with no napkin well that is OK ill eat the fries? COLESLAW then if you are like me you day forget it eat the old chicken hard biscuit with no butter and then you are really thankful for the two glass of water.
         Ok i realize that was a little extreme but we have all been there at some point in are life.  I was a fast food manager for 12 years and i loved it. I worked for a company that was at first a great company to work for. Eighteen years old and running a fast food place, that was fun. Fun you say how is that well let me tell you that when you work for a company that puts there people first not only the managers but the employees of that company make them fill like they are part owners in that company, making them think that this is there company and what they do inside those four walls will make a difference. that was the company i worked for. There was never old product there was far less complaints you got a clean place to eat but most of all you got customers not to come only once but again and again a relationship was built in that community that fast food place was and is the best.
         I know i have touched on a lot of subjects but i really believe that if we just got back to the basic of what fast food really was meant to be and not how i can make a buck, maybe we could get some great service at a speedy pace in a clean environment with some fresh food, sounds like a dream, no there are some place that are great.
         I will be talking in later blogs on how i achieved that in my restaurant, and how that when i ran my crew i was part of that crew. You see if i failed that meant that we all failed. We all as a team had to pick the oar up and start to roll in the right direction for that to work. My first blog will be about how to build a great team around you.
